Fire safety training class for your employees, at your site
A classroom session at your site that teaches employees to choose and use a fire extinguisher, when to fight a small fire and when to get out. It covers OSHA 1910.157's annual training requirement, uses no live fire or chemicals, and every attendee is named on a certificate.

What employees learn
What your employees will be able to do
By the end of the class, employees can demonstrate competency in each of these areas:
- Proper selection of a fire extinguisher. Which extinguisher fits which kind of fire, and how to read the label.
- Fire extinguisher use, PASS and AAA. PASS is the motion itself: Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire, Squeeze the handle, Sweep side to side. We teach AAA alongside it.
- Hazards of fighting an incipient fire. When a small fire is safe to tackle, and when to leave it.
- Evacuation and 911 call procedures. How to get out and who calls.
- Your Emergency Action Plan. We review the relevant parts of your company's own plan.
- Environment awareness. Knowing where the extinguishers, exits and hazards are in their own workplace, and their part in workplace fire safety.
How the class works
Safe, indoors and built around your plan
Held in your own meeting room, built around your Emergency Action Plan.
No live fire, no chemicals
Our training is environmentally safe. It doesn't expose employees to a live fire or extinguisher chemicals, and it doesn't create any hazardous waste.
Classroom setting
It's best conducted indoors in a classroom-style room, using a TV or projector for the presentation.
Up to 30 per class
Classes can be any size, but more than 30 people will run longer than 2 hours.
A certificate for your records
You receive a certificate with the names of every employee who completed the training.

A copy of your company's Emergency Action Plan, so the class covers your exits, alarms and procedures.
The OSHA requirement
Who needs fire extinguisher training, and how often
OSHA 1910.157 says that where an employer provides portable fire extinguishers for employees to use, those employees must be trained in the general principles of extinguisher use and the hazards of fighting an incipient fire, when they’re first hired and at least once a year after that.
An annual class keeps new hires covered and gives everyone else a refresher on the extinguishers they’d actually reach for. Pair it with our annual inspection and the equipment and the people are both ready.
Employees your Emergency Action Plan assigns to fight fires have added equipment-training rules under OSHA 1910.157(g)(3) and (g)(4); ask us what your plan needs.
